Call for applications
Temporary exhibition "Showcase on..."
The Museum of Founding Cultures is launching a call for applications from visual artists for the exhibition “Showcase on…”, a temporary exhibition to be held during the summer.
This exhibition aims to allow emerging artists to have an exhibition experience in a museum and to showcase their art to a diverse audience, both tourists and visitors from neighboring communities.
The available space is a 12' x 8' wall.
ELIGIBILITY
This call is open to emerging artists from the Acadian Peninsula working in the following disciplines: painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, textiles, collage, drawing, etc.
FILE TO SUBMIT
Interested artists must submit a complete application including:

Completed registration form (available below).

Images of the proposed works (5 images, JPG, doc, docx, PDF format).

Artist CV (maximum 3 pages).

Specific technical requirements for installation, if applicable.
SELECTION
A jury composed of the director, a commissioner, and a member of the board of directors will select the applications according to the following criteria:

Originality and artistic quality

Technical feasibility
-
Consistency of the artistic approach
CALENDAR

Submission deadline: June 20, 2025, midnight.

Announcement of selected artists: June 27, 2025

Delivery of works: June 30 to July 4, 2025

Installation: July 8-10, 2025

Opening: July 11, 2025, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Exhibition: from July 11 to October 4, 2025

Dismantling and recovery of works: From October 5, 2025
TERMS
-
Selected artists will receive a $500 fee.

The Museum of Founding Cultures is committed to promoting and providing technical installation equipment.

Artists must be available for the assembly and disassembly period, as well as for the opening.
